New Florida law will require heart screenings for student-athletes

TAMPA, Fla. — A new Florida law, which goes into effect July 1, will require heart screenings for all high school athletes.

That’s why the non-profit Who We Play For is hosting community heart-screening events across the state. They say Sudden Cardiac Arrest takes the lives of 23,000 youth each year.
