High gas prices, low carbon footprint

The rising cost of gasoline could lead to the Oregon State University community opting for public transportation, potentially lowering their carbon footprint.

OSU Transportation Services provide vehicle services to students, such as the Beaver Bus, Veo scooters — which allow students to use bikes and scooters to travel around campus — and parking permits.

The OSU 2030 sustainable transportation strategy, according to the transportation services’ website, started in 2020 and is an initiative to lower solo commuting from 30% to 20% by the year 2030.
