The state championships game is no place for mistakes, and Sherwood simply made too many to win.
The defending state champion Bowmen entered the game as a slight underdog to top-seeded West Linn, but they quickly became heavy ones after a bevy of early miscues led to what became a 6-2 defeat to the Lions on Saturday evening, June 6, at Jane Sanders Stadium in Eugene.
