Salem extends lien forgiveness program after helping repurpose neglected properties

SALEM, Ore. (KATU) — The City of Salem is extending a pilot program that forgives certain code enforcement liens after property owners clean up neglected properties.

The extension follows what city officials describe as early success in returning long-vacant and nuisance properties to productive use.
