YAMHILL COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) – After multiple fire agencies were sent to a wildfire between Sheridan and Willamina on Saturday evening, crews have stopped the fire from spreading and are now focused on mop up, according to Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Department of Emergency Services.
Just before 6:30 p.m., Grand Ronde Department of Emergency Services said the fire crews were responding to the fire near Rock Creek Road and West Main.
At 7:30 p.m., officials said the fire was actively burning between Rock Creek Road and Chip Yard Road. They said the fire wasn’t threatening any buildings, but some homes had been evacuated along West Main Street. Officials have been directly contacting those residents, they said.
As of 8 p.m., Grand Ronde Department of Emergency Services said crews had stopped the fire from spreading and were focusing on mop up efforts. Everyone who was asked to evacuate earlier in the evening has been allowed to return home…
