OREGON – Oregon’s two oldest private universities have agreed to merge.
Last week, the governing boards of Pacific University and Willamette University signed an agreement to merge the two institutions. The universities will continue operating as separate campuses while being unified under a single administration.
As many universities are cutting programs and student services, leaders say the merger is intended to combine the strengths of both institutions and help avoid those kinds of reductions…
