Newberg man arrested in domestic violence case

Thanks to an assist from a K-9 officer, a local man is in custody after a recent domestic violence call to police.

According to a release from the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a rural Newberg residence at approximately 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10 on a report of a domestic disturbance “involving threats of violence.”

“Deputies learned that Nicholas Roth, 39, had allegedly been physically violent with his girlfriend and threatened to kill her,” the release said. “Roth was also reported to be outside the residence with a bow and arrow, shooting at a target and making threats toward nearby neighbors. The victim was hiding on the property while providing updates to dispatch.”…
