Maddie Nolan scored a game-high 19 points as fourth-ranked Colorado had no problems in a 90-57 win over Oregon on Friday night.
The Buffaloes (20-3) had a season-high 32 assists with all 14 players receiving minutes. It’s the most assists since CU had 35 against St. Francis on Nov. 28, 1994.
“I just think everyone’s just really buying into that idea of just share the ball until we find the best team shot that we can get,” Colorado coach JR Payne said. “No one was forcing anything tonight.”
Nolan was one of five Buffs in double-figures, including four starters. Quay Miller, Aaronette Vonleh, and Frida Formann each chipped in 12, along with 11 points from Tameiya Sadler off the bench. Colorado shot 36-for-69 (52.2%) from the field and 11-for-25 (44%) from 3-point range.
Miller hit the 1,000-point milestone with a triple midway through the second quarter. She became the 30th Buffs player in history to reach the plateau.
It was an easy-going night for the Payne’s team as they led by as many as 34 points in the victory. Colorado notches their fourth straight since beating Oregon on the road two weeks ago. Not to say this game was a warm-up, but the Buffs face ranked opponents in the next four games. It’s a stretch with NCAA tournament implications being a factor.
