SALEM, Ore. — The Salem Police Department’s Traffic Team is investigating a fatal vehicle versus bicycle collision that claimed the life of a 67-year-old Salem man weeks after the crash.
Authorities identified the bicyclist as Richard Allen Hawkins, who died on March 14, 2026, from injuries sustained in the February 28 collision.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:22 p.m. at the intersection of Front Street NE and Union Street NE.
