Lawsuit: Woman with beer allergy sues Oregon restaurant after going into anaphylactic shock

All it took was one bite of a beer-battered onion ring and an Oregon woman ended up in an emergency room in a life-threatening state of anaphylactic shock, according to a $155,000 lawsuit filed against the restaurant that served her.

Mui Van has a rare allergy to beer — or specifically hops, according to her lawsuit, which was filed this month in Marion County Circuit Court.

Van is suing iWingz, a Salem arcade and restaurant that specializes in chicken wings and burgers, plus sides like deep fried Twinkies. Representatives from iWingz didn’t respond to a request for comment from The Oregonian/OregonLive…
