Three, including 17-year-old, charged in fatal Taylorsville shooting

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — Two individuals, including a 17-year-old, have been charged with murder and a third individual has been charged with obstruction of justice after allegedly shooting and killing a man in Taylorsville.

On June 20, Taylorsville Police Department responded to a shooting at a gas station and found 20-year-old Isaiah Chavez deceased in the parking lot from a gunshot wound.

Officials confirmed that they arrested 23-year-old Alejandro Julian Bia, 19-year-old Daniel Vargas Rodriguez, and a juvenile male, who was not identified at the time, in relation to the shooting. Newly filed court documents reveal the third individual is 17-year-old Christopher Lopez, and he is believed to be the one to have fatally shot Chavez.

Lopez and Bia have each been charged with one count of murder, one count of felony discharge of a firearm for causing serious bodily injury, and 14 counts of felony discharge of a firearm.
