If you’re in the mood to celebrate America 250—not Freedom 250, let’s be clear—there are plenty of places to do it. From one end of the Salt Lake Valley to the other, and beyond, here’s a roundup of many of the big Independence Day gatherings.

The Gateway (400 W. 200 South) again serves as the venue for one of the main 4th of July parties in SLC proper. On Saturday, July 4, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., head to the Olympic Plaza at the north end of the mall for an evening of food, games, live music from Lane Changers, DJ beats from DJ Bangarang, buskers and a fireworks show to close out the evening.
