SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Renovations on the Salt Lake Temple reached another milestone after crews finished the temple’s new seismic base capable of withstanding a large earthquake.
Earlier this week, crews removed more than 1,500 bolts connecting nearly 400 plates to the base isolators that were installed beneath the temple. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said these plates stabilized the isolators during installation and weight transfer.
