This ‘American Idol’ winner is headlining the concert at Utah’s biggest event for young adults

“American Idol” winner Iam Tongi will be headlining two nights of concerts this August for the 2026 Utah Area YSA Conference, organized for a fourth year by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Tongi is a 21-year-old Hawaiian-born singer and a Latter-day Saint. He won season 21 of “American Idol” in 2023 and believes music is about fun and transformation, according to the conference’s concert event page.

“I know I’m supposed to be doing this, and sometimes that’s all I know,” Tongi said, according to the event page. “This is what I was meant for.”…
