Centerville police prepare for possible teen takeovers during Freedom Festival

CENTERVILLE, Utah (KUTV) — Fireworks and teens have proven to be a tricky combination for Centerville during Fourth of July festivities. Last year, teens threw a lit firework into a crowd, causing minor injuries.

This year, Centerville police said they will be watching closely for groups of teens because of recent “teen takeovers” reported in other communities.

During Saturday’s Freedom Festival, officers said they will be especially vigilant and will not hesitate to break up large groups of teens if necessary…
