SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Salt Lake City hit 109 degrees Sunday, setting a new all-time record high and surpassing the previous record of 107 degrees as extreme heat continued across Utah.
With temperatures reaching dangerous levels, health experts warn staying cool is about more than comfort. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can lead to heat exhaustion, heat stroke, organ failure and death.

Find air conditioning when you can
People without air conditioning at home can get relief by spending even a few hours in an air-conditioned public space, such as a library, shopping mall or recreation center.
