Former accountant from Roy pleads guilty to stealing over $450K from employer

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — An ex-employee at an asset management company has pleaded guilty to felony charges for using her position to steal over $450,000.

In February, 25-year-old Laurel Llewellyn Gifford of Roy was charged with 30 counts of theft by deception valuing over $5,000, a second-degree felony, and 38 counts of theft by deception valuing $1,499 to $4,999, a third-degree felony.

On Wednesday, she pleaded guilty to two counts of theft by deception valuing over $5,000, and the remaining 66 felony charges were dismissed with prejudice as part of a plea agreement…
