HOLLADAY, Utah (ABC4) — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and injured, leading to closures on Van Winkle Expressway.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Van Winkle Expressway is closed at 1300 E due to a crash.
A spokesperson with the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) confirmed that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and was injured. They were transported to the hospital in “serious” condition.
Initial estimates say the road will be closed until 11:35 p.m., though SLCSO says they expect the road to reopen soon. Travelers should avoid the area and expect heavy delays.
