‘His positive outlook was an inspiration to many’: Tributes pour in for Alan Osmond after his death

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Tributes are pouring in after Alan Osmond, known for his role in The Osmonds, as a musical artist, and his philanthropy, died this week.

According to a spokesperson for the Osmond family, Alan Osmond died at his home, surrounded by his family on April 20, after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Osmond spent many years bringing music and entertainment to the world, and furthering philanthropic efforts.

As Alan’s life came to an end, his brother, Merrill, spoke on his and another brother, Jimmy’s, determination. In an online post, he said, “To witness their strength, courage, and determination to keep moving forward despite health challenges that would stop most people in their tracks was truly inspiring.”

Merrill continued, “I salute both of them tonight. There is something deeply powerful about family standing together when trials come. In moments like these, you realize there is nothing better than family holding each other up with love, faith, and unwavering support.”

A statement from the family, provided by a spokesperson following Alan’s death, said, “His positive outlook was an inspiration to many, and he donated much of his time speaking at MS events, encouraging individuals like himself on how to mentally and physically deal with the advancement and treatment of the disease.”…
