SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — An alleged drug trafficker, who the Department of Justice (DOJ) said is an undocumented immigrant illegally residing in West Valley City, has been indicted by a federal grand jury following the seizure of approximately 240,000 fentanyl pills hidden inside furniture panels.
Crisantos Javier Sotelo Valencia, 27, was arrested on March 3, 2026, during the execution of an arrest warrant for a separate federal drug case. During the arrest, agents seized several cell phones from Valencia, in which they found several videos of Valencia with large amounts of U.S. currency and narcotics, including fentanyl.
The videos reportedly showed composite wood in ready-to-build furniture where drugs were hidden inside.
“Based on a review of body camera footage taken during Valencia’s arrest, agents suspected the furniture was at Valencia’s residence,” a press release from the DOJ states. “On March 25, 2026, agents executed a search warrant at the residence where they located and seized bags filled with blue M30 pills, hidden inside wooden panels.”…
