SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – The Salt Lake City School District confirmed Friday, that an email about graduation rules sent to seniors at West High School included inaccurate information about how families and students can celebrate the big day.
The WHS front office sent the email on Wednesday, stating in part that there is “NO celebrating allowed at the Huntsman Center,” on the University of Utah campus, where the WHS graduation ceremony will be held.
The email listed several items that will be prohibited at graduation, including tents, banners, tables, chairs, canopies, confetti and balloons.
The email also stated that students are not allowed to wear candy or food leis and decorated caps, both of which would be confiscated and strictly enforced by campus police…
