Officers honor 10-year anniversary of West Valley officer’s death at D.C. memorial

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (KUTV) — Nine officers with the West Valley City Police Department traveled to Washington D.C. to honor Officer Cody Brotherson, who was killed in the line of duty 10 years ago.

The officers made the trip as part of National Police Week, with half of the group participating in the Police Unity Tour. The bike tour consists of riding 300 miles from New Jersey to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in D.C.

Officer Cody Brotherson’s name is etched in the stone memorial, next to more than 24,700 other officers’ names. Cody Brotherson’s brother, Officer Brayden Brotherson, was one of the riders, ending the journey at the memorial where his family was waiting…
