‘Lucifer came and beat her’: Man sentenced to prison after admitting to strangling, killing wife in 2023

SAT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A Salt Lake City man has been sentenced to prison for the 2023 murder of his wife.

Larry Edward Johnson, 66, pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree murder after strangling and killing his wife in 2023. He was sentenced in Salt Lake City’s Third District Court to 15 years to life in prison. A second charge of obstruction of justice was dismissed as part of a plea deal.

According to charging documents, police responded to a welfare check at a Salt Lake City apartment after Johnon’s sister told police that he had strangled and killed his 71-year-old wife, Victoria Lynn Johnson on April 2, 2023.
