SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio nurse who fell into a coma after suffering acute liver failure during her honeymoon in Japan is showing encouraging signs of recovery, according to her family.
Sarah Danh, 27, is no longer on life support and is breathing on her own, her uncle, Khang Le, shared Thursday night in a social media update. Le said Danh has begun to regain some physical strength, including moving her arms, wiggling her toes and, with assistance, taking a few small steps.
Danh, a labor and delivery nurse at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, was hospitalized in Tokyo after her liver suddenly failed, prompting an emergency medical evacuation back to Texas. At one point, doctors warned she had suffered brain damage and might not regain normal function…
