Plenty of people in San Antonio have their favorite stops for affordable Chinese food, and for some, that place has long been April’s Chinese Restaurant, a hole-in-the-wall eatery that still has specials for less than $10. However, the restaurant has come to a screeching halt amid some big changes.
On May 1, April’s Chinese Restaurant closed its doors to the public to make way for a huge renovation of the property, according to a sign that was taped to the restaurant’s front door. MySA visited the restaurant on Wednesday, May 20, and took note of the visible changes, including some boarded-up windows and walls. We tried calling the business to ask more about the timeline of construction, but the restaurant did not pick up.
