A 44-year-old San Antonio man is the subject of a felony arrest warrant after investigators say he touched a 14-year-old girl while she slept. The alleged incident happened in the early morning hours of April 21 at a home in northwest Bexar County. The girl later underwent a forensic medical exam and was interviewed by child-advocacy specialists as the probe moved forward.

According to News 4 San Antonio, a Bexar County Sheriff’s Office affidavit states that the teenager told family members Jonathan Tamayo entered her room and touched her inappropriately while she was in bed. During questioning, the affidavit says, Tamayo denied the allegation and said he had only checked on the child and given her medication because she felt ill. An arrest warrant for indecency with a child, contact, was issued Friday, May 22.

The teen was taken to Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital for a forensic medical exam and was later interviewed at ChildSafe, the county’s child-advocacy center.
