Killer whales spotted off of San Diego coast

SAN DIEGO (FOX5/KUSI) — Passengers on a San Diego Whale Watch boat were treated to sights of killer whales off the coast of San Diego on Sunday.

The pod of about 12 Eastern Tropical Pacific orcas was spotted seven miles off the coastline.

According to the San Diego Whale Watch crew, passengers cheered as the whales were bow-riding and rolling on their sides.

Orcas, also known as killer whales, are the largest members of the Delphinidae family, or dolphins.
