Spring Valley man arrested after ‘ghost gun’ found during home raid

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Spring Valley man was arrested Tuesday after San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at his home as part of an investigation into illegal firearms manufacturing.

According to authorities, detectives from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station, along with the sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail (SWAT), carried out the warrant a residence on the 2800 block of Glen Canyon Circle.

The suspect has been identified as 52-year-old Jason Jefferson, who was at the home at the time of the raid. Investigators say Jefferson is legally prohibited from owning or possessing firearms.

During the search, deputies recovered an un-serialized short-barreled rifle, extended magazines for both rifles and handguns, ammunition, and additional firearm components in various stages of assembly.
