SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A rescue operation took place in Carmel Valley on Wednesday morning after a mountain biker was injured on a remote trail.
According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, a bicyclist in distress called for help around 8:23 a.m., but his phone connection was poor and communication was limited.
A park ranger volunteer responded to the area on a bicycle and found the injured individual along a trail near Carmel Mountain Road and Stable Vista Way. He was reported to be conscious at the time.

Fire officials said the area — near the Lower Cobbles Trail — was difficult to access, prompting a combined response from park rangers and SDFD crews.
