Fatal crash sparks vegetation fire in North County

ESCONDIDO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Crews responded to a vegetation fire in North County Saturday after flames from a vehicle fire spread into nearby brush.

According to officials with Cal Fire, the blaze was reported around 1 p.m. at 32111 Shirey Road in Escondido.

Emergency crews initially responded to a vehicle fire that extended into surrounding vegetation, prompting a full response.
