We’ll be honest… we’re not sure why people would cruise from San Diego. In our travels, it’s a place we always look forward going to, not departing from.
Nevertheless, cruising from San Diego is popular and growing. Cruise lines ranging from Disney to Holland America to Princess all offer cruises from the port, which several other lines visiting as a port of call.
If you’re sailing from San Diego, then there is a good chance you live in the area. More than 20 million live in Southern California, and for these folks they will be driving to the cruise port. That begs the question of where do you park once you get there?
San Diego Cruise Parking Options
Most cruise ports make parking extremely simple. You show up at the terminal and there is parking provided at the port. San Diego is a bit different in that it doesn’t provide port parking. However, there are options close by for parking:
San Diego Cruise Ship & Airport Parking (Wyndham San Diego Bayside)
This lot is located right across the street from the cruise terminal, in a parking garage that’s adjacent to the Wyndham San Diego Bayside hotel. Rates some of the higher you’ll find, in line with the convenience of being so close, costing $30 per day. Reservations are recommended. A free shuttle to the port (even though it’s a short walk) is provided.
