SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A memorial event honoring victims of violent crime and unsolved homicides was held Saturday in San Diego’s Skyline neighborhood, bringing together families still searching for justice for their loved ones.
The annual “Cold Case Cruise” featured a procession of lowriders and classic cars traveling along Skyline Drive past Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, where families gathered to remember victims of homicide and raise awareness about unsolved cases.
The event was founded three years ago by Alicia Valenzuela, whose brother, Daniel Anthony Coriz, was killed in a case that remained unsolved for a decade before a suspect was finally brought to justice.
