A cult-favorite SF coffee shop is opening its most ambitious cafe yet

The Coffee Movement (opens in new tab), one of the city’s most prestigious speciality coffee companies, is expanding with a new cafe and its most ambitious program yet.

This fall, an extension will open just 300 feet from the flagship Chinatown location. Owners Bryan Overstreet and Reef Bessette signed a 10-year lease on the former Gallery Cafe space at 1200 Mason St. and say it will be The Coffee Movement’s “forever home.” The new cafe, located across from the Cable Car Museum, will serve expanded coffee and food menus.

“It will still have the energy and essence of downtown, the snowglobe effect of San Francisco,” Overstreet says. “Like, ‘Man, is this real?’ as you sip your cappuccino with the Transamerica Building in the background.”…
