Police will not raise the 49-foot cabin cruiser that sank near Alcatraz in the San Francisco Bay this summer after the agency deemed it was unnecessary to salvage the boat to complete their investigation, officials said Friday.
The decision comes nearly two months after the boat, named the Volare, suddenly capsized on July 14, killing four of its 20 passengers. Three people were pulled from the water and one person remains missing.
