The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is reaching out to the community for assistance in identifying a person of interest related to a homicide that occurred on July 27, 2023. The release of images is part of the department’s efforts to gather information crucial to the ongoing investigation.
The incident, which unfolded just before 5:15 AM on July 27, 2023, prompted officers to respond to the intersection of 7th Avenue and International Boulevard. The initial call reported an individual down on the ground, leading law enforcement to discover a victim with apparent gunshot wound(s). Tragically, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.
In response to the incident, investigators from the OPD Homicide Section took charge of the case, diligently working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the untimely death.
To aid in their investigation, OPD is now seeking the community’s help in identifying a person of interest connected to the homicide. The released images aim to prompt any possible leads or information from the public, police stated.
