SAN DIEGO — A flight from San Francisco reported they “hit a drone” above San Diego on Wednesday morning, according to recorded audio.
In audio from United Airlines Flight 1980 and air traffic control at San Diego International Airport, the pilot can be heard explaining that “we hit a drone at around 3,000 feet.” When asked to describe the drone, the pilot said the red drone heading west was “so slow… it was red and shiny.”
