Good times and outdoor alcohol consumption are coming to two San Francisco neighborhoods.
The Board of Supervisors this week approved a pair of ordinances that will allow city officials to create entertainment zones in the upper Fillmore and Glen Park neighborhoods. San Francisco opened its first entertainment zone in October 2024 thanks to legislation authored by state Sen. Scott Wiener that allows the sale of boozy beverages to-go from nearby bars and restaurants during block parties, street festivals and other special events.
The City currently has 15 entertainment zones. Backers behind the two newest spaces said they hope that by hosting gatherings worthy of getting residents out of their homes and together into the streets, attendees in both entertainment zones will patronize local businesses…
