Authorities say a California man was manufacturing and selling a novel synthetic substance called “pink cocaine.” As a result, the guy was taken into custody.
The San Jose Police Department announced on Wednesday that detectives had found evidence of the production and sale of illicit drugs out of a company in the 400 block of Blossom Hill Road in San Jose. As a result, Luis Carrillo-Moyeda, 32, was named as a key suspect.
FOX2 KTVU found data indicating that Carillo-Moyeda is the owner of the Yum Yum Donut store located in a commercial complex on Blossom Hill Road.
On January 19, detectives carried out search warrants for the suspect’s residence and place of business. They found a variety of illicit drugs, parts used to make drugs, substantial sums of money, an unregistered gun, and ammunition, according to the police.
It is believed that Carrillo-Moyeda was producing and selling a drug under the names “Tusi,” “2C,” “Pink Cocaine,” “Pantera Rosa,” or “Pink Panther.”
According to investigators, the illicit substances include a novel synthetic drug composed of ketamine, cocaine, methamphetamine, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), and opioids. The material has a pink appearance.
