VENTURA, Calif. — On Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Ventura Police officers and staff will proudly carry the “Flame of Hope” four miles through city streets as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), a powerful show of unity, inclusion, and support for local Special Olympics athletes.
This annual, non-competitive relay kicks off at historic Ventura City Hall, making its way east through the city. Ventura PD will then pass the torch to the Ventura Harbor Patrol, continuing the flame’s journey through Ventura County.
“The Law Enforcement Torch Run is one of the most meaningful events we participate in each year because it’s about something so much bigger than ourselves,” said Sergeant Ryan Reynosa, Special Olympics Liaison for the Ventura Police Department. “It’s about showing up for athletes who inspire all of us with their determination, positivity, and heart. Last year, Team Ventura PD raised more than $12,000 for Special Olympics, and this year we’re motivated to beat that number and continue supporting opportunities that make a real difference in these athletes’ lives.”…
