(KRON) — The Santa Rosa Fire Department said five adults and one child heard “sounds of explosions from the back yard” of their two-story, single-family home before being displaced in a fire Thursday afternoon. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

The fire broke out at 2:48 p.m. at 958 Kingwood Street, sending heavy smoke and fire from both floors. All residents were able to evacuate the building before fire crews arrived. The building has been red-tagged due to extensive damage by the City of Santa Rosa Building Department.
“Crews extended attack hose lines to both floors of the residence,” SRFD said. “The Truck Company extended the aerial ladder, and crews went to the roof and cut heat holes to allow super-heated gases and smoke to escape the building.”
