Public memorial service set for deceased people without family, financial means

Sonoma County will hold a public memorial service on Saturday to honor 59 people who died without family or the financial means to arrange for burial or cremation, county officials said. The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary and is open to the public. The service is organized by the Sonoma County Human Services Department and the Office of the Public Administrator and marks the fourth consecutive year the county has hosted the event. Attendance is open to all and registration is not required.
