SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A Sarasota family is sharing their story in hopes of raising awareness about a rare and devastating genetic disorder after their 7-year-old son was diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy, or MLD.
For Caitlin Bauer, the diagnosis came as a shock.
“This came as left field for us,” Caitlin Bauer said. “You spend all the money when they’re a baby to make sure that they’re good and that you’re not going to get surprises like this.”…
