Manatee County Government officials are aiming to regulate short-term vacation rentals, but getting the system in place could cost $1.5 million.
Commissioners directed staff to continue working on an ordinance as community voices continue to raise concerns about some high-occupancy rentals. Residents have taken to social media, including a Facebook group, to show how living next to short-term rentals has impacted their daily lives.
