ER physician warns of heat, alcohol and fireworks risks this Fourth of July

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – The Fourth of July is just days away. While many will be celebrating with outdoor festivities, a local doctor wants to make sure you are staying safe.

Emergency room physician Dr. Jay Goldstein said his biggest concerns this holiday weekend are heat-related illnesses, drinking alcohol in extreme heat and fireworks safety. He says those are the most common preventable injuries emergency rooms see this time of year.
