TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) – A pop-up party that had been circulating on social media did not take place Saturday, as Tybee Island police increased their presence on the island’s beaches ahead of the final weekend of summer break.
Flyers for a back-to-school event on Tybee Island had been spreading on social media, prompting concern from residents and law enforcement. Two weeks ago, the Tybee Island Police Department issued a statement warning parents about the event and urging them to speak with their children about the potential consequences of attending unpermitted gatherings.
