HARDEEVILLE — California Gov. Gavin Newsom slipped quietly and unannounced into Hardeeville’s St. Stephen AME Fellowship Hall, but it only took a couple of seconds before the crowd of 150 registered attendees were on their feet.
It was the first of six planned appearances over the next two days in South Carolina for Newsom during a swing through the South that includes stops in Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina.
