Tybee Island Police Department Warns Students Ahead of Senior Skip Day

The Tybee Island Police Department is reminding high school seniors that a day off from class does not mean a day off from the law, and promises it will not lecture anyone about perfect attendance or warn that they will end up “living in a van down by the river.”

In a Facebook post addressed to students across Chatham County, the department acknowledged the longstanding informal tradition of Senior Skip Day while making clear that officers would be out in force along the beach, including at the Back River.
