Robert Busbee, district attorney for the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit, died suddenly Friday morning, May 22, 2026. He was 44.
Bulloch County Coroner Chuck Francis confirmed Busbee’s death Friday. According to Coroner Francis, Busbee was at a local gym when they believed he suffered a heart attack around 8:00am. Bulloch County EMS transported him to EGRMC where he was pronounced dead at 9:07am.
Busbee served as district attorney for the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit, which includes Bulloch, Effingham, Jenkins and Screven counties. He was in his second year of a four-year term…
