Phoenix sees dusty skies, gusty winds ahead of midweek cooldown

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Highs have climbed to 97 degrees so far today. Gusty breezes have kicked up patches of dust and haze across parts of the Valley and southeastern Arizona.

A few showers have developed west of Tucson and are drifting north, so some virga—rain that evaporates before reaching the ground—may be visible around the Phoenix area. This activity could also bring brief wind gusts this evening.

Winds will ease overnight as temperatures fall to around 70 degrees by Monday morning. Monday will be slightly less breezy, with plenty of sunshine and a high near 95 degrees. Tuesday looks similar, with highs holding in the mid-90s…
