A Tukwila-based immigration attorney who gave up her law license this week to avoid discipline following a misconduct complaint and federal lawsuit had more than 35,000 clients, including potentially many in Oregon.
The exact number of impacted clients in Oregon is not known. Alexandra Lozano Kennedy and her firm have not responded to a request for that information from The Oregonian/OregonLive. The Washington State Bar Association said it doesn’t have an estimate, either, but it suggests that “current clients ask for their files back.”
Lozano Kennedy resigned her Washington law license Tuesday and is permanently barred from practicing. Her voluntary resignation in lieu of discipline followed a complaint dated the same day by the Washington State Bar Association’s Disciplinary Board accusing Lozano Kennedy of misconduct.
